Everything is Moving

I know many people at the moment are feeling a little unsure of the future, a little unsteady on their feet. There’s burn out, questioning around career and life choices, fear around this world we inhabit. It can feel hard, and sometimes quite paralysing in terms of knowing what to do next. We can feel stuck and unsure about how best to proceed.

I’ve had a number of such feelings over the past couple of months in particular. It’s been pretty challenging, and I’ve certainly had many moments wondering how to re-gain optimism and excitement. However, over the past week I’ve been reminded of something Glennon Doyle said whilst we were all deep in lockdown about how life has a way of just happening. She shared how sometimes when we feel stuck it can feel like nothing will change and we’re in a dead end, but actually, something always shifts, life always continues to happen.

Life, the world, us, the universe, we’re all always evolving and changing and moving. The puzzle pieces are always shifting around, and with that comes new perspective, ideas, opportunities, light. It can be so helpful to remember, in times of challenge that life is still moving around us, that ‘this too shall pass’, that things always come up. Although taking action can be really helpful, sometimes life takes action for us, it gives us a nudge, a helping hand.

I’ve seen a personal shift in the way I’ve been feeling over the past week, stuff was happening around me which has led to altered thoughts and feelings about the future, thoughts and feelings that feel more hopeful and exciting. I feel like I’ve put my arms out and I’m trusting and falling into life a little bit more.

When we’re in a place of stuck-ness, remembering to trust, remember life is always shifting and moving, remembering ‘this too shall pass’ can be really helpful perspectives to hold.

With love as always, Hannah and Team Bird
