Wellness in the workplace

At Bird, we understand the current wellbeing and resiliency challenges the not-for-profit sector is experiencing.

Purposeful work tends to attract empathic, passionate, emotionally intelligent individuals, who often find themselves taking on emotional responsibility for others. Over time, such empathic, passionate and emotionally intelligent individuals can lose resilience. This unfortunately leads to burnout, stress and overwhelm, and can cost an organisation creativity, productivity, innovation and money.

As I have shared a few times through the blog, I personally experienced burn out from a very challenging role supporting those affected by domestic violence. It took me about 18 months to really feel like myself again once I’d stepped away from the work. I don’t believe that others who want to do such important work should have to experience the same as I did. Which is why I set up Bird.

Bird is a team of expert coaches and facilitators with personal experience of working in the not-for- profit sector. Each of us knows firsthand the impact working in the sector can have emotionally and physically on all members of an organisation.

Having worked with a number of clients, such as WaterAid, Farleigh Hospice, Age UK London, Touchstone, ACEVO, Share Action and others in the not-for-profit sector over the past three years, we understand the current wellbeing and resiliency challenges the sector is experiencing.

Our robust programmes address and resolve the main resiliency problems facing not-for-profit organisations, and we have a fantastic 2018 brochure outlining them. We would like to share the brochure with you.

If you are even the slightest bit interested in creating more wellbeing in your workplace ask us for a brochure. You do not have the be the CEO or head of HR to initiate this, if it’s of interest, reach out and we’ll support you to approach your management team.

We want to help you feel your best whilst supporting others. Please reach out and we can share how.

Sending love as always, Hannah
