How being grateful changed my life

Honestly, it’s such a simple process, but recognising and being thankful for the things I have in my life on a regular basis has such a huge impact on the way I feel. When I spend as little as one minute per day thinking about the things in my life I’m grateful for, it makes a massive difference. I feel really abundant and kind of, ‘full up’ in a sense. I literally feel full in my stomach, and in my heart. It’s like I create a safety net for myself, just from thinking of the things I have rather than the things I am lacking. That sense of desperation and panic that comes with thinking about what I don’t have is exhausting and it zaps any creative thoughts I have. Living in the perspective of scarcity kills my soul.

But, I actually feel surprised that something so simple can have such an amazing impact. So here are some of the things I am currently grateful for:

Amongst many others…

1. Feeling really healthy

2. Doing work I love and getting to be creative with it

3. My bicycle

4. Roasted seeds and halloumi cheese

5. My ever-growing flame of internal self-belief

6. This Alt J album I’m listening to

7. This computer I am using

8. My achy arms from yoga last night

9. The sun
