Building resilience creatively

We have a different look here at Bird! We have gone through a re-brand, and although I wasn’t at the helm of the re-design, being a part of the creative process was a really exciting time.

Being creative (which by the way EVERYONE is in one way or another, we seem to only think about creativity in terms of arts and crafts but creativity can come in all shapes and sizes – it is basically just creating something!) connects us to all sorts of positive emotions.

The absence of any form of creativity can leave us feeling stale and stuck, which inevitably feels stressful and frustrating, and when we feel stressed and frustrated we certainly don’t feel resilient and energised.

When we allow ourselves to get creative we connect to the feeling of what’s possible, we connect to ideas and dreams and vision. When we are connected and concentrating on what’s possible, on hope, our minds cannot wander to fear and gremlin chatter and judgement and negativity, our brains cannot do both things at the same time.

So whether it’s getting more creative with dinner, or drawing up some ideas for a window garden, or thinking about a new project you’d like to try, step into a little more creativity and watch how it transforms your perspective and builds your resilience.
