A TED talk and a podcast

Happy Thursday, I hope the sun is breaking through for you as it is here in Brighton and Hove.

We came across a really interesting new TED talk by Johann Hari recently. The presentation explores some of the ideas from his book Lost Connections, which as you will probably know we recommend here at Bird for it’s insights into how much of an individualistic society we live in, and how to get more community and connection in order to feel well.

The TED talk is twenty minutes long and well worth a watch to understand the importance of us all coming back together again.

The second sharing this week is a 16 minute podcast with Joel Levey. For anyone who has attended our Building Resilience in a Fast Paced World workshop, you will know the meaning of VUCA. I first heard about this from Joel Levey at a beautiful mindfulness course I attended. VUCA stands for volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity. Joel suggests we live in such times and that we need to prioritise our wellbeing in order to thrive through them. We’d heartily recommend giving him a listen to learn more.

Enjoy, and if you have any resilience or wellbeing podcasts or online resources that you think we need to see please don’t hesitate to let us know.

With love as always, Hannah and Team Bird

Ps. We are running a workshop on April 7th in collaboration with The Social Change Agency. This is a rare opportunity to attend one of our workshops externally, and we’d love to see you there.
